The establishment of an Independent Inquiry was announced by the Permanent Secretary of the Department of Health in May 2018. The Minister for Health, Robin Swann, converted the Independent Neurology Inquiry to a Statutory Public Inquiry on the 11 December 2020.
The Inquiry Panel will carry out an independent statutory inquiry of an inquisitorial nature.
The attached Statement from the Inquiry Chairman in relation to the conversion of the Inquiry from a Non-Statutory Public Inquiry to a Statutory Public Inquiry, along with the Inquiry Restriction Order. The Inquiry has also issued correspondence to the Patient Client Council in relation to the Inquiry conversion.

The Inquiry has published a table, available here, detailing the changes in the volumes above which are noted as having been revised. In respect of Chapter 4 there was a significant publication error which was rectified by the 28 June 2022. In respect of Volume 5, Appendix C was revised by the 27 June 2022.
